About

Slaton Harvey House

We invite you to stay with us at The Slaton Harvey House, a “Gem of the South Plains,” and a place where every event becomes a memorable occasion.  It serves as a historic Bed & Breakfast serving the Lubbock area, an Event Center, and designated historic landmark by the State of Texas.

The Slaton Harvey House first opened in 1912 by the Fred Harvey Company, furthering the company’s mission of offering quality meals at fast pace for train passengers of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. The Harvey House venture closed in 1942, but the facility continued as a passenger and freight depot for many years. Most locals still refer to the building as “the depot”.

The building went into disrepair after ATS&F ceased operations from Slaton and was facing demolition when a group of locals and others with close connections mounted a successful effort to save and revive this landmark of Slaton and the Lubbock area.

Now in operation for more than ten years, the Slaton Harvey House provides Lubbock area travelers one of only two Bed and Breakfast options for Lubbock. We also offer a unique setting for family or company events, and an unforgettable backdrop for marital vows or receptions.

We are located at the intersection of Railroad Ave. and Texas Ave. Visitors will marvel at the elegant dining room, and learn the history from original photographs and artifacts from the golden age of railroads.  In-house event planning, floral, and catering is available.  Book now for reunions, weddings, meetings, parties, civic and social events!
